Enterprise Concept Innovation Center

Enterprise Concept Innovation Center is a powerful community that aims to deliver innovation to our clients as we help them to achieve and sustain high performance.
One of the areas of execution and innovation is the usage of Open Source Software (OSS) is our projects. In order to develop this area of expertise, we create The Innovation Center for Open Source.
Open Source Software (OSS) is a software licensed under terms that make the source code available for others to use, modify and distribute.
Why use Open Source Software in enterprise?
• Often free (of cost) to obtain.
• Licenses permit certain freedoms regarding use and redistribution.
• The process through which the code is developed is open and visible for all to see, resulting in the notion of a “community” that develops, uses, advocates and sponsors the software.
• Can be obtained directly from the community and, increasingly from commercial providers.
• Commercial models typically change subscriptions rather than an upfront license fee + maintenance
• Quality of OSS –With a large community, the quality tends to be better than commercial solutions. The availability of source code increases the level of demand.
• Security and Protection of Proprietary Data. There is a myth that open source software is more vulnerable to attack than proprietary solutions. Actually, the opposite is often true. Because the source code is exposed, it is often easier for a security minded software community to close security holes or breeches.
